To make your own biscuits, follow this really simple recipe:
50g caster sugar
few drops of vanilla extract
175g plain flour
Preheat the oven to 150 C / Gas 2. Add butter and
sugar in a bowl and mix well until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla, mix, then add the flour and mix well.
Roll out to about 5mm. Cut into shapes.
Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Place the biscuits on Black paper wings and add eyes
and a mouth to make bat biscuits.

Now that our children are back in school working hard (we hope!) we have had a chance to start designing a new and exciting range of merchandise. Here’s a sneaky preview of some drawings – we want them to give a true flavour of everything the Lake District has to offer. What do you think? We love receiving feedback and ideas from you, don’t forget you can get in touch on Facebook www.facebook.com/FelltarnFriends and Twitter @FelltarnFriends.
Alice Pyne touched the nation’s hearts with her inspirational yet tragically short life. We all heard about her wonderful work encouraging everyone to get busy enjoying their lives by creating a “bucket list” of all the crazy, wild, wonderful and exciting things we want to do – and actually getting out there and doing it! One thing that Alice brilliantly achieved was starting the charity, Alice’s Escapes – a place for terminally ill children and their families to spend quality time together in a beautiful setting on the edge of the Lake District. We were over the moon that Vicky Pyne wanted the Felltarn Friends to feature in the gift pack hampers they provide the families with – and even more over the moon to share coffee and cakes galore with Vicky and Kelly! You are fabulous – thank you!
When Greenlands Farm Park asked us if we would like to be a part of their popular Family Fun Day, how could we resist!? The sun shone and hundreds of people came to get up close with the animals, have their faces beautifully painted, have a go at Sumo Wrestling, eat delicious ice-cream and of course have a look at all the Felltarn Friends gorgeous new merchandise. We had such a great time, it really was fun for all the family!

Windermere Reflections organised a day of fun activities for 4 local schools at Wray Castle. We were invited to host a crafting event, painting Lake District inspired scenes on ceramic tiles. As always the children were enthusiatic and creative, painting hedgehogs, lakes, rainbows, Belted Galloways in bright bold colours – just look at the pictures! With over 80 children enjoying their day, I would say the event was rather successful! Thank you to Windermere Reflections for a fabulous day!!!
