Now that our children are back in school working hard (we hope!) we have had a chance to start designing a new and exciting range of merchandise. Here’s a sneaky preview of some drawings – we want them to give a true flavour of everything the Lake District has to offer. What do you think? We love receiving feedback and ideas from you, don’t forget you can get in touch on Facebook www.facebook.com/FelltarnFriends and Twitter @FelltarnFriends.
Alice Pyne touched the nation’s hearts with her inspirational yet tragically short life. We all heard about her wonderful work encouraging everyone to get busy enjoying their lives by creating a “bucket list” of all the crazy, wild, wonderful and exciting things we want to do – and actually getting out there and doing it! One thing that Alice brilliantly achieved was starting the charity, Alice’s Escapes – a place for terminally ill children and their families to spend quality time together in a beautiful setting on the edge of the Lake District. We were over the moon that Vicky Pyne wanted the Felltarn Friends to feature in the gift pack hampers they provide the families with – and even more over the moon to share coffee and cakes galore with Vicky and Kelly! You are fabulous – thank you!
When Greenlands Farm Park asked us if we would like to be a part of their popular Family Fun Day, how could we resist!? The sun shone and hundreds of people came to get up close with the animals, have their faces beautifully painted, have a go at Sumo Wrestling, eat delicious ice-cream and of course have a look at all the Felltarn Friends gorgeous new merchandise. We had such a great time, it really was fun for all the family!
We are crafting and colouring at the Low Wood Bay
every Wednesday and Sunday from 9:30 – 11:00
this Summer. Guests of the hotel can
come along and join us for a variety of fun crafts.
The Low Wood Bay is a great hotel for families. With
a gorgeous view of Windermere and fantastic facilities,
we definitely recommend this hotel for your family visit to
the Lake District!

We had an amazing day at the Lakeland Book of the Year Awards
which was held at the Inn on the Lake, Ullswater. We were very

Windermere Reflections organised a day of fun activities for 4 local schools at Wray Castle. We were invited to host a crafting event, painting Lake District inspired scenes on ceramic tiles. As always the children were enthusiatic and creative, painting hedgehogs, lakes, rainbows, Belted Galloways in bright bold colours – just look at the pictures! With over 80 children enjoying their day, I would say the event was rather successful! Thank you to Windermere Reflections for a fabulous day!!!
Every year I enjoy visiting the Holker Garden Festival with my family, but this year was even better because we had our very own beautiful stand in the ‘Made in Cumbria’ tent. Doesn’t it look lovely! The Festival was fantastic, the weather was perfect and we loved every minute of being there. We will be back next year – come along and see us!
A very busy and messy day of creativity. Rheged will never be the same after all the children got their hands on the glitter! We all had an absolute ball creating our Leaf Butterflies and Pinecone Creatures! We made butterflies, bugs, beetles of every colour and had lots of fun trying to attach googly eyes to pinecones. An awesome day with so many creative children joining in the event. The RSPB and the Lake District National Park were teaching the children about birds and the Lake District. It was such a fantastic day and we were all shattered and glittery by the end of it. Can’t wait for the next event at Rheged – a great place for families!
My friend Kirsten was visiting from South Africa so I roped her into helping at one of our favourite crafting events. So here we are ready to craft with the guests at the Low Wood Bay. It is a fantastically child friendly hotel and they even have a Felltarn Friends Family Package. This week we had 2 crafting sessions – on Saturday and Sunday, entertaining the kiddies just after breakfast before their day out in the Lakes!
If you are looking for a family friendly hotel, the Low Wood Bay is on the shore of Windermere with a Watersports Centre and a leisure club with a fantastic pool.
